26-28 of April Team Peak Adventure Junkie is racing in Chinese Baise Leye Outdoor Quest.

Day 1 went quite well. We finished 4th after Team Thule (France, NZ, Sweden), FJS (Sweden) and MoxieGear /Nuun Australia.

Day started with breakfast at 7AM, then we had a short bus trip to the city center, bright and loud opening ceremony and then race itself at 9.40 or so.

First leg was a run that supposed to be 3 km and dead flat according race info, but it was 6,5 with two pretty hard hills for warm up. After that we had to put pieces of picture together and climb two walls.

Then we headed for a 30 km ride mostly on gravel road with some climbs and a lot of mud after recent rains and some sections of almost non-rideable single trails.

In one of puddles at the corner Maria leaned her bike a bit too much and ended up straight in the mud. Hopefully Serge captured it on Go Pro and we'll show it later on as it should be pretty spectacular.

After the ride we had a 8 km run with a cave at the end and quite a spectacular abseil.

Did not have issues with the heat for most of the day apart from the last section when the sun was up and temperature definitely reached 30.

Now (at 8PM local time) we're getting our gear ready, packing up boxes and trying to recover for tomorrow.

Team is feeling ok, a bit tired obviously but looking forward to race tomorrow as it's going to be a very hard and demanding day. Maria is washing white socks, Serge eating his third noodles, Jarad went to bed and Ian is watching Chinese TV without translation :)

Day 2 is the hardest part of this race. First, we'll have 1,5h bus ride to the start.

We start with 10 km lake paddle, then 30 km of MTB with bigger climbs then today and then  18 km killer trek with over than 2,5 k elevation gain with an abseil at the end.

Other teams are also very excited and looking forward to do this last trek especially taking into account the clear sky that we have now and de-brief from organisers that "it's very hot" up there.
